About 2012 – Shaman Alberto Villoldo, Ph.D
Alberto Villoldo is a Cuban born Shaman who was a professor of Anthropology at San Francisco State University when he decided he needed to go to the Amazon to study with indigenous healers. In this video he boldly states that Western Civilization as we know it is coming to an end as a new humanity is coming into being, “Homo luminous.” It is up to us to achieve enlightenment in order to co-create a new sustainable civilization. Spirituality is no longer a luxury, it is a necessity to survive what is coming. This message is short and powerful. Please watch and make comments below:

Loving Kindness to Everyone including Ourselves
Pema Chodron is a masterful Buddhist teacher who is very inspiring towards unconditional self acceptance. When we finally see our basic, inherent goodness then we see it in others. When we see we are all in the same boat it is much easier to be kind to ourselves and others and be a good friend to our self.
Barbara DeAngelis on shifting energy with love
Barbara is one of our great transformational teachers on the planet today. Here she talks about how the thought “What can I give to you?” can shift your energy instantly and lead to profound experiences. Please comment if you see how you can use this in your own life.
Becoming a Universal Human…
Barbara Marx Hubbard is one of our greatest visionaries alive today and very inspiring as she is now in her 80′s and still as powerful and creative as ever. She explains here that we now have the capacity to destroy ourselves or to make a huge co-creative leap. Please check out her video and your comments below.
Patricia Sun on our evolutionary leap
I first discovered Patricia Sun in the late 70′s when I was living in San Francisco. In one evening workshop, I witnessed a room full of strangers, each an island unto ourselves, being transformed into a room full of people in love: with her, ourselves and each other. Here she talks about whole brain thinking as part of our ability to receive inspiration and live our fullest life. Please enjoy and comment below.
“Life is Supposed to Be Fun” — Abraham-Hicks: Rampage of Allowing
This video is guaranteed to make you feel good and get you in the space where you know that all you desire is on its way to you! Please enjoy and I’d love it if you left a comment below.
How To Get Happy in 5 Minutes or Less
Finding inner peace and happiness can be fun! According to Abraham, “Life is supposed to be fun.” After all, Enlightenment is about lightening up and it really can be this easy. Check these ideas out and let me know if any of them resonate with you:
- Sit down and take a deep breath. Feel the air moving softly in and out of your lungs. Feel your body sinking into the chair. After three or more breaths it starts to feel delicious. This works really well when I’m feeling overwhelmed by wanting to do 4 things at once. Give it a try right now and see what happens…
- Make the decision to feel better and be willing to do whatever it takes. You will notice that you’ve already started to shift whatever you were focusing on.
- Notice what you were previously thinking about that made you unhappy. This could be an unresolved situation from the past or a worry about the future. Label it without judgment.
- Remember a time when you felt totally happy and fulfilled. Allow the feelings of well-being to permeate your body.
- Think about something you would love to create if you had the time, money, etc. Resurrect an old dream if you’ve let one die.
- Move your body to music! Find something that makes you feel you have to move. Rock n roll or any kind of dance music will work. Let the music move your body. Don’t even think about how it looks to someone else or try to do any “steps.” Feel your muscles moving, stretching and massaging your body from the inside out.
- Watch a funny video that makes you laugh out loud. On Youtube, Abraham’s “Get Happy” is excellent. Also on this site under archives: click on September 2010 for a video from Tyler Perry as Medea holding forth on relationships. Laughter really is the best medicine!
- Read some inspiring quotes. There are many good websites including these: http://quotegarden.com; http://RobertBrault.com. Here are two excellent quotes: “Man is fond of counting his troubles but he does not count his joys. If he counted them up as he ought to, he would see that every lot has enough happiness provided for it.” –Fyodor Dostoevsky “What a wonderful life I’ve had! I only wish I’d realized it sooner.” –Colette
- Make a gratitude list! Write down some of your joys or at least think about them. Gratitude is one of the quickest ways to raise our vibrational frequency and feel happy to be alive.
- Ask for spiritual help. If you believe in angels or a Supreme Being/Higher Power, talk to them like a friend and ask for what you need. “Ask and ye shall receive.”
Please remember that for sustained happiness there is no substitute for doing the challenging internal work of making peace with our past. Ekhardt Tolle calls it the “pain body” which rears its ugly head whenever triggered by situations or people which remind us of something which remains unhealed.
There are as many ways of healing the past as there are people. Ultimately it gets down to forgiveness of all others and, perhaps the hardest part, forgiveness of ourselves. Much of that is just seeing that they didn’t know how much they were hurting us at the time and we were doing the best we could with what we knew at the time. “Forgive them for they truly knew not what they were doing.” Not forgiving is only hurting ourselves. Someone said that refusing to forgive is like taking poison and hoping the other person will be harmed.
I believe that everything can be healed. Choosing to believe this has made it possible for me to overcome some very painful issues from childhood. That will be an article for another time.
Please comment if you found this article useful or if you have any other ideas that work well for you. Thanks.
“Be not angry that you cannot change others”
For those of us who might still be processing “holiday stress” and desire to handle holidays and life in general better this coming year, I hope these insights will be helpful.
The full quote is: “Be not angry that you cannot make others as you wish them to be, since you cannot make yourself to be as you wish to be.” ~Thomas aKempis
On Thanksgiving morning I woke up with this seemingly fresh insight: What makes holidays stressful is my desire for family members to be different than they are.
All day on Thanksgiving at our family gathering I was totally free from any judgments about anyone. Everyone and everything was fine with me the way they were and everyone seemed to have a good time, too.
Two days after coming home I sat quietly and allowed myself to feel the sadness that was there for the family members who cannot be considered to be “doing well.” Isn’t it normal to want siblings to be happy or at least not clinically depressed; to have some semblance of cleanliness and order in their home, please God, not living in squalor! Yet, how can I know the path their soul has chosen for their learning in this lifetime? I cannot change them and it is not my job. I can’t know all their past or all their future, therefore I can’t judge, according to A Course in Miracles.
What about making myself as I wish to be? What I have learned so far is that, the more I love and accept myself the way I am now, the more quickly I evolve towards being my best Self. I believe this attitude can be applied to family and friends. The more we accept them exactly as is, the more quickly they may grow into their finer expressions of Self.
This is how I desire to live: Everyday I find more reasons to love and accept myself as I am. I then extend this love and acceptance to all others. So be it and so it is.
Video on the Role of the Divine Feminine
Here “Baba” gives a brief discourse on how the Divine Feminine can bring peace and harmony into our world. He says that the feminine energy is love which transcends intellect and can cause the end of wars and suffering in the world. He is from India but he has been in Santa Monica, CA for a long time and totally understands Western ways. I love a man who honors and promotes the Divine Feminine! Please comment on whether you find his ideas helpful. Thanks
